Reviewing suggestions

Swipe through suggestions one at a time, or see them all in a grid, and compare each with the original.

A review opens in the style you used last: swiping, one photo at a time, or a grid. Swiping is the default. Switch with the button at the top right.

Photos are shown already fixed. Tap one to compare it with the original, and tap again to go back.

The title shows your progress, like 12 of 340. Tap it for the scan’s details: how many photos were checked, and how many weren’t on this device.

Nothing in your library changes while you review. See Fixing and undoing.

Swiping

  • Swipe right to fix.
  • Swipe left to dismiss a wrong suggestion.
  • Swipe down if you’re not sure. The photo is left out for now, and later scans suggest it again.

The buttons under the photo do the same: × dismisses, ? is not sure, and ✓ fixes. The two arrows try another angle. Undo, at the top, takes back the last swipe. Pinch to zoom in.

Each photo says why it was suggested, like Faces are upright when rotated ↻ 90°.

You decide with the fix showing. Swipe or tap a button while the original is showing, and the fix comes back instead, so you can see what you’re choosing.

When you’ve swiped some right, tap Fix N Photos at the bottom to fix them.

To swipe only the less sure ones, tap the title and choose Only Less Sure Ones.

The grid

Suggestions are grouped by session, like Morning · Sep 22, with year headings when they aren’t all from this year.

  • Tap a photo to compare it with the original.
  • Swipe a photo sideways to try another angle.
  • Tap × to leave a photo out for now. + puts it back.
  • Press and hold a photo to rotate it yourself, Show Nearby Photos, Swipe from Here, or Dismiss it.
  • Pinch out on a photo to see it bigger, in the swipe view.

Tap Fix N on a session to fix its selected photos, or Fix N Photos at the bottom to fix every selected photo.

Less sure suggestions

The evidence points one way, but not strongly, or the fix goes against the rest of the session. These start unselected, so nothing changes unless you choose them. In the grid they’re under Less sure, shown bigger, with the reason.

Nearby photos

Nearby Photos shows a suggestion among the photos taken within 30 minutes of it, which helps tell a sideways shot from one taken that way on purpose. When swiping, it’s under the photo. In the grid, tap the stack button in the corner of a photo.

Switch between Original and With Fix to compare. The buttons below mark the photo to fix or skip, or dismiss the suggestion.

Dismissing a suggestion

Dismiss a suggestion when it’s wrong. Overnight checks and later scans leave the photo alone, unless you scan with Include photos you’ve reviewed on. In the grid, Undo appears for a few seconds afterwards. When swiping, use Undo at the top.

To start over, Reset Review History, under Suggestions So Far on the Rotate tab, forgets which photos you’ve fixed and dismissed, so scans check them all again. Your fixes stay as they are.

Coming back later

Your place is saved as you go, so you can switch tabs or close the app and pick up where you left off. Done ends the review. Anything you didn’t fix or dismiss is suggested again the next time you scan it.
