Photo Tidy(er) does two jobs in your photo library.
Fixes sideways photos
A phone decides which way is up from how it’s held when you take the shot. On the move it often guesses wrong, and the photo is saved sideways or upside down.
Photo Tidy(er) looks at the faces, people and text in each photo to work out which way is up, and suggests a fix. You check the suggestions, and nothing changes until you tap a Fix button. Each fix is an ordinary edit, so Revert in Photos undoes it. See Scanning for sideways photos.
Stages photos for a post
Pick the shots for your next post, and Photo Tidy(er) gives them a heart, or puts them in a temporary album, so they’re easy to find while you post. When you’ve posted, tap Posted and they’re cleared. Photos that were already favorites stay favorites. See Staging photos for a post.
Where things are
The app has three tabs:
- Staged: your batches of photos staged for a post.
- Rotate: scan for sideways photos, review what’s found, and turn on overnight checks.
- Settings: defaults for new batches, permissions, and your free fixes.
In Photos, select photos and tap Share for two more:
- Photo Tidy(er), in the row of apps, stages them for a post. The screen it opens is called Stage for Post.
- Fix Rotation, in the list of actions below, fixes them. Scroll down if you don’t see it.
What you need
An iPhone with iOS 18 or later, and full access to your photos. See Permissions.

There’s no account and no server. Photos are checked on your iPhone and never leave it. See the privacy policy.
