Loman Age Verification has two plans. Billing runs through Shopify, so a charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice rather than as a separate bill.

That table is not an abbreviation. Every feature is on both plans, and the only difference is a small “Powered by Loman Age Verification” line at the bottom of your age gate.
Why the free plan is the whole app
Because of what withholding any of it would mean. An age gate a merchant cannot switch on until they have paid is an age-restricted storefront served to everybody in the meantime — a gap with our name on it, on the one kind of product where a gap is the whole problem.
So the Free plan is not a crippled preview. It gates your store, it enforces at checkout, it follows your age rules, and it costs nothing — indefinitely.
The enforcement point is worth stating separately, because it is the thing most likely to be assumed to be a paid feature. It is not. The checkout rule is on the Free plan, it works the same way, and it is not throttled or sampled.
What Standard buys
One thing: the “Powered by Loman Age Verification” line comes off your gate.
The app says so itself — the Remove our branding card on Home reads “Your age gate shows a small ‘Powered by Loman Age Verification’ line at the bottom. Upgrading takes it off, and changes nothing else.”
It is worth $2.99 to some stores and not to others, and both answers are fine. The gate is the first thing every visitor to your store sees, every time they arrive on a new device, so a store that cares how it presents itself usually pays it. A store that mainly wants the thing to work does not need to.
Nothing else changes. There is no feature you unlock, no limit that lifts, and no behavior that differs — if you upgrade and cannot see what changed, look at the bottom of your gate.
What is not sold on either plan
Worth listing, so you are not looking for it:
- Gate completion analytics. Counting how many gates were shown, passed, and refused is the obvious next feature and it is not built. When it lands it will be announced; it is not quietly waiting behind a plan.
- A staff password. Every other app in this suite sells one, because they hide the whole store. A gate takes five seconds to answer, so there is nothing to sell a way past.
- Email capture, A/B testing, custom code. These belong to Coming Soon, which is a different app for a different job.
Changing plans
From Home → Your Plan → Change plan. You can move in either direction at any time.
Shopify handles the proration. Downgrading does not delete anything — your designs, age rules, and allowlist are untouched, and your gate keeps working exactly as it did. The only thing that comes back is the branding line.
Stopping the charge
Moving to the Free plan stops the billing while keeping everything. That is usually what people want, and it is reversible in one click.
Uninstalling also cancels the subscription, but it removes your gate from your storefront — which for this app means an age-restricted store with nothing in front of it. Move to Free rather than uninstalling unless you actually mean to stop gating.
Support
Support is the same on both plans: email
[email protected] with your .myshopify.com
domain and what you were trying to do. Most replies go out within one business day.
There is no priority support tier here. At $2.99 it would be a promise the price cannot carry, and a store whose gate has stopped working needs an answer regardless of which plan it is on.
