Installing Loman Age Verification

Add the app to your store, pick a plan, and get to the setup checklist.

Loman Age Verification installs from the Shopify App Store and is configured entirely from inside your Shopify admin afterwards. There is nothing to download and no code to paste into your theme.

What it asks for

Shopify shows you the permissions before you confirm. The app requests two, and they are the whole list — Shopify words them in its own way on that screen, but this is what they are for:

Read your themes	It needs to tell whether the app embed is switched on in your published theme, which is what the setup checklist reports
Write checkout validations	It creates the checkout rule that blocks an unverified cart, and keeps it in step with your age rules

It does not ask for your orders, your products, or your customers. It cannot read them, and it cannot write to them.

No order access, on purposeThe app deliberately does not request order access, which is why it cannot tidy up after itself on the order page — see Checkout enforcement for what each completed order carries instead.

Choosing a plan

There are two, and the difference between them is one line of text on your gate.

Free is a real plan, not a trial. It does not expire and it is not time-limited, and nothing about enforcement is held back from it. You can move between the two at any time from Home → Your Plan → Change plan.

Why the free plan is a working gateThe free tier is deliberate rather than generous. An age gate a merchant cannot switch on until they have paid means an age-restricted storefront served to everybody in the meantime, and a trial that expires is a gate that expires.

Billing runs through Shopify, so a Standard charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice rather than as a separate bill. For the detail, see Plans and features.

Opening the app later

Once installed, the app lives in your Shopify admin under Apps, listed as Loman Age Verify — Shopify caps app names at 30 characters, so the pinned label is shorter than the full product name. Everything happens there, across three tabs: Home, Templates, and Settings.

What happens next

Installing does not put a gate in front of your storefront on its own. You still need to set your ages, publish a design, turn on the theme app embed, and switch the gate on.
