Simple and Duo have an SEO & Analytics category in the editor with four settings. The five Pro templates do not — see the settings reference for what each template carries.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Page Title | The <title> of your Coming Soon page — what shows in the browser tab and as the headline in search results |
| Page Description | The meta description search engines and social previews use |
| Facebook Pixel ID | Loads the Meta pixel on your page |
| Google Analytics GA4 Code | Loads GA4 on your page |
Page title and description
Write these for someone who has not heard of you. “Coming Soon” as a page title tells a searcher nothing; your store’s name and what it sells does.
A description of roughly 150 characters is the practical limit before search engines truncate it.
Facebook Pixel
Paste your Pixel ID — the numeric identifier, not the whole script block. You will find it in Meta Events Manager next to your dataset name.
Once set, page views on your Coming Soon page fire as pixel events, so you can build audiences from pre-launch traffic and retarget them when you open.
Google Analytics
Paste your GA4 measurement ID — the value starting with G-. It is in Google
Analytics under Admin → Data streams → your web stream.
G- ID.
Tracking actually works here
This is a real advantage over Shopify’s built-in password page, which can swallow tracking events. Your Coming Soon page is served through Shopify’s app proxy on your own domain, so it is an ordinary page as far as analytics tools are concerned. Sessions, referrers, and conversions attribute normally.
Other tracking scripts
For anything else — a Hotjar snippet, a TikTok pixel, a consent banner — use the Custom JavaScript field on the Advanced category. That requires the Premium plan.
Should the page be indexed at all?
Usually yes, briefly. A page that ranks for your brand name before you open captures people already searching for you, and the email form converts them.
If you would rather stay out of search entirely, leave the title and description generic and do not submit the URL anywhere. The page is not automatically submitted to search engines by the app.
